You may also call your physician’s office to schedule your procedure, cancel your procedure, follow up on results and for any urgent after-hours concerns.

Pre-Admission

After your doctor has scheduled your surgery at Columbus Eye Surgery Center, one of our nurses will call to take your history, provide instructions and answer questions about your procedure. Your insurance information will be taken by office staff experienced in pre-certification. Click here to see a list of our in-network insurance providers.

Pre-Surgery Instructions

Patients must arrange to have a responsible adult stay at the Center during their surgery and drive them home afterward. A center nurse will call and give instructions regarding eating, drinking and medication before surgery. She will also discuss what you should wear. Your surgeon will notify you of any other special instructions.

Day of Surgery

Surgery will be cancelled for patients who have not made arrangements to be accompanied home by a responsible adult. When you arrive at Columbus Eye Surgery Center you will be greeted at the reception desk and asked to verify pre-admission information and sign any consent forms necessary. A television viewing room is available to allow the patient’s family members to view the surgery, if approved by your physician. A staff person is available to answer any questions.

Patients are taken to the admitting area and prepared for surgery. Following surgery, patients are returned to the recovery area for observation by the nursing staff. Postoperative instructions will be given to the patient at this time, and then the patient is discharged when vital signs are stable.

What do I need to bring the day of my procedure?
